September at the Johnsons

Wow! September sure has flown by. We spent time with both of our families on two different weekends and had such a great time! We also enjoyed the last rays of summer sun since September was such a nice warm month! I'm afraid our luck may be changing however--today, the last day of September, hasn't even reached 40 degrees here. It's quite a drop to go from 87 to 40 in one day!  But I think summer deserves one last hurrah with these bright summer pictures from time with the Johnsons!

September Adventures

This summer we didn't really go anywhere foreign, exotic, or what may be termed as "adventurous," but to live each day with two darling, growing boys is adventure enough for me! Enjoy!!

Now this was a wonderful little date night I planned.  We enjoyed such a special evening together.

And then we had a wonderful little Greene reunion to celebrate Gram and Pop's 50th wedding anniversary.  We surprised them with a movie.  It was a very nice day.

Here's a few pictures from Gram's house....the boys have loved going over there practically every day. Tate is growing up so quickly and looking so handsome. And Easton looks like he's ready for kindergarten even though he's only 2

Hugs

I've been thinking a lot about hugs. They are wonderful, aren't they? It seems that even if everything in my life seems to be wrong and my skies are filled with only gray clouds and blizzards, sunshine breaks through those clouds and little flowers start growing out of the snow if someone I love gives me a hug. It's simple, I know, but it can truly be a cure.

And do you want to know another reason I love hugs? Read the following quote and you may be inclined to agree.

Now, I know the holidays are still a little ways off, but for those of you (who like me) start thinking about Christmas presents this time of year, have you ever considered something as simple as a hug? As we are currently living on a graduate student's budget, we may be doing just a little bit less buying and a little bit more hugging this year. After all, it's the memories that matter most, right?
