I've been thinking a lot about hugs. They are wonderful, aren't they? It seems that even if everything in my life seems to be wrong and my skies are filled with only gray clouds and blizzards, sunshine breaks through those clouds and little flowers start growing out of the snow if someone I love gives me a hug. It's simple, I know, but it can truly be a cure.
And do you want to know another reason I love hugs? Read the following quote and you may be inclined to agree.
"Hugging is the ultimate gift. Great for any occasion, fun to give and receive, shows you care, comes with its own wrapping, and of course, is fully returnable. Hugging is practically perfect. No batteries to wear out, inflation-proof, nonfattening, no monthly payments, theft-proof and nontaxable."
Now, I know the holidays are still a little ways off, but for those of you (who like me) start thinking about Christmas presents this time of year, have you ever considered something as simple as a hug? As we are currently living on a graduate student's budget, we may be doing just a little bit less buying and a little bit more hugging this year. After all, it's the memories that matter most, right?
If you have any good quotes or poems on hugs leave them in your comments! I'd love to read them!!
