Crazy Hair and Mismatched Clothes Day

This is truly the best day of the whole year for little boys.

And they sported mohawks...

July Reflections.

I'm sitting here today wondering where July went. How can August be 1/3 of the way done too? We anticipated that this summer would be busier than last, and it was. But I never dreaded it because there were so many trips and family activities to look forward to. What I didn't anticipate was how the summer would not only be busy, but would feel like a whirlwind. A very good whirlwind, but tornado-ish nonetheless. It was a flurry of activity and now it's over. Well not quite, but close enough. We have three more things planned before school starts--our Anniversary, the boys' Grandma/Grandpa camp, and our family olympics/back-to-school party. And school is just two weeks away...Enough about that. It's not time to pull out the tissues yet--we still have TWO WEEKS OF SUMMER LEFT!!! YAY!!!!

So here are the photos I found on my phone today. Bits and pieces of July's memories.

Our clean garage came about as a result of a Saturday afternoon. I should have taken a before picture--it was a wreck!!

 I love walking in our garage now. It's so clean and even beautiful!

We've been enjoying our CSA shares of fruit from Perry this year.

Another highlight of July is starting my "Take a Daily Question to the Scriptures for 30 Days Experiment." I cannot believe how incredible the Lord is. How He intricately places our answers amidst the pages of scriptures amazes me every time.

This is one of the brilliant sunsets I captured this summer. It struck me the other night as I was driving home from the store and watching the sunset, how each day the Lord surprises us with a new sunset. Every single day's sunset is unique and different. I think I take for granted how kind and generous our Father is in providing us with this brilliant gift each and every day. It leaves me wonderstruck.

And this is just Flashlight in one of her temporary favorite beds (my travel bag).

When we drove Easton up to visit Gram and Pop a few weeks back, Maylie latched on to Gram and decided she had a found a new playmate. (And I was not invited :) She reminds me of someone I know... ;)

This is our beautiful dog Pola (aka Pola Bear according to me, aka the Grim/Sirius Black from Harry Potter according to Papa)

 One day Tate and Maylie and I discovered this sweet little movie series on Netflix based on one of my absolute favorite books...

Last Satruday the boys and Patrick went on an Elder's Quorum 4-Wheeler ride. It lasted all day and they had a blast. They came home grimy but they shined up nicely! (Meanwhile, Maylie and I went over to Logan to do some shopping...the beginnings of my new decorating project).

And lastly, this was the day of the very first "Messy Buns" for Maylie. She loved them. and I thought they captured her personality so well...

 I think doing hair is one of the best things about having my little girl!

 And someday, she'll have her own...

June Things.

A monthly recap is in order because we've been so busily filled with summer things that I haven't had a single free minute to record our memories.

The summer started with a Super Hero Training Meeting so we could start a new summer chore system. The boys have both been doing so well on their chores--Tate especially loves wearing his super hero gloves!

I mustered up my courage, and chopped off all my hair (or at least 11 inches!!) I felt quite a bit like Rapunzel, but was easily able to part with it knowing it was being donated, instead of being thrown away!!

On the first day of summer we made homemade popsicles and had a picnic lunch outside on our new lawn surrounded by our new fence. It was heaven. Perfectly serene.

On my second day of summer, girls camp began. I had a blast with some of my favorite people in the whole world!!! I love all my girls!!!!

(And this is what they labeled the Leader's Tent as....thank heavens I didn't have to sleep there!!)

The hike was one of my favorite parts. Hiking is probably on my top 10 list of most wonderful things to do....

Eating at our favorite local restaurant (actually only one of two restaurants in our town...) [But it really does have amazing food and is decorated so cute!!]

The first prize Maylie chose from Mommy's Store as a reward for doing her chores, was a crown. Of course. This little princess is my favorite girl to be around in the whole wide world!!!

Last weekend, I had a wedding to photograph in Lehi (my very last one--yay!). Inbetween the events of the day, my parents and I went to the Outlets at Traverse Mountain! I am definitely returning! They were amazing!!! And even though it was a completely stressful day, I absolutely LOVED spending time with my parents. We drove down together and spent most of the whole day together. I can't remember the last time I have been alone with my parents. We laughed until we nearly cried and made so many fabulous memories. My parents have always been and will always be my dearest friends and I treasured this time more than I can express. I hope we can have another day together in the future!

And this is Easton. :)

This week Maylie chose sidewalk chalk for her prize. I am in love with this box of endless possibilities!

And lastly, Easton lost his tooth a few days ago. That makes #6!

Summer is in full swing. I have checked off so many things from my summer to-do list. All that's left is to relax, enjoy each moment, and go on at least 5 fun summer trips!!!! I hope this summer never ends.
