One of Life's Pleasures...
There are few things in life better than "licking the spatula."
(P.S. I don't think whatever I was making had raw eggs)

A Day in the Life of Maylie.
I've been taking a photography class....and one of the creative shooting assignments was to do "a day in the life of." I was thrilled because I've been wanting to do this anyway! It gave me a great excuse to follow my little Maylie through the day and capture a few moments of her day to day life.
{Waking up}

{Talking on my phone...her 2nd favorite thing to do}
{Chewing on my phone....not my favorite thing for her to do}
{This is the first picture I have ever taken of her that reminds me of me when I was little...}

T & M
It has been a struggle since Day 1 to monitor Tate and Maylie. He loves her so much and wishes he could just hug and kiss her all day. But often he's not as gentle as he should be, and Maylie has learned to avoid him or start screaming when he comes close.
But little by little we're making progress. Tate does a quick count to 5 when he gives her a "soft" hug and she seems to tolerate this a little better. This is an example of one of those moments. It was perfect. And she was happy, and he was happy, and for a moment I could smile and relax.
And the other day, Maylie started a new hobby--giving hugs. All morning she would come up to me and give me a big sweet hug. But at one point, after she finished her hug with me, she ran over to Tate who was watching at the windowsill, wrapped her arms around him, and gave him the sweetest hug I've ever seen. It was the first hug she's ever given Tate--and Tate's look of sheer surprise and absolute delight could have melted an ice cap. It was one of the most tender things I've ever witnessed, a moment I won't soon forget.
