I have neglected to post hardly any pictures from the last two months. We have just been too busy. However, I fear that life will never slow down. It will probably just keep speeding up! I thought I would take advantage of the boys' naps a few days ago (which, I might mention, are the most wonderful times of refreshment and rejuvenation for me), and put together a smilebox of our last two months. There are over a hundred pictures, so feel free to click through them more quickly if you'd like.
Updates? Oh, where to begin.
Patrick is in a grueling semester. Unfortunately, it's worse than last semester. However, he has been so cheerful and positive. Despite his massive homework loads, he still continues to support me by doing the dishes every night after dinner and helping me get the boys ready for bed. I can't tell you what a burden that lifts from my shoulders. He amazes me every day.
Easton? I could write volumes. Let's see. I'll try to condense it a bit. He loves nursery, and I get the feeling that may be because he is twice the size of every other child there and may try to rule the roost. From what I've heard, he knocks the kids over left and right when they do bubbles. It's all accidental of course, but it still hurts them and they cry. :( On a happier note, he is loving how Tate is growing up. Having a little brother as a playmate is something he enjoys daily. Today when I was changing Easton's diaper Tate walked over and stumbled, landing on Easton's head. I thought Easton was going to die of laughter. When Tate got up, he even wanted him to get back on again. He's crazy! I'm just so glad that he is so patient with Tate. This is just one of the many occurrences where Easton pretty much lets Tate do whatever he wants to him. He also figured out how to flip rubber bands off our kitchen chairs today. I'll have to post a video of that. He wears a cowboy hat that my Pop gave him everywhere he goes--including the grocery store. I've convinced him to leave it at home when we go to church, luckily. He's also talking so well, that every day brings a new splash of color to our home. We love you Easton!
Tater oh Tater I love you I do. Now that he's 13 months, he has officially entered the club. What club, you may ask? The one where you find every drawer, cupboard, and cabinet in the house and seek to pull out everything inside. Oh the joys! I had almost forgotten that Easton went through this same stage. Tate's still learning to walk. He will take some steps, but then get scared, lose his balance, and drop to his knees. I know that Easton was walking by about 11 1/2 months, but I have come to accept my children as unique and special--each in their own way. I'm not as stressed about hitting the milestones right on the dot. I know Tate will grow and develop at his own pace. I guess this applies to talking as well. Lots of babbles, but no definite words yet. He must be content just listening to me and Easton jabber all day.
And as for me, it has been somewhat of a rough month. January always seems to be so. But I take comfort in the fact that it's February. I know that this month of love will bring our family greater love, unity, and harmony as we strive to center our lives on the Savior. And I know that by ourselves we can do nothing. But with heaven's help we truly can do anything. I know in Whom I trust, and I know that His grace will help me press forward through all of my trials, tribulations, heartache, and stress. He is the way...the only way.
