Pai Sunday.

We began a new tradition the first Sunday of August.

After their third birthday, every fast Sunday Patrick will visit with each child individually to spend some quality time, teach, listen, and testify.

Easton had his first one Sunday, August 1st, 2010...on the top of his bunk bed.

They talked about what Easton liked to do and Easton bore his sweet little testimony {or so I hear.}

They finished with a prayer.

And then we all enjoyed apple pie together.

You see, this idea was born from my desire to always allow my children time with their Dad.  Dads can get so busy and mothers are always primarily responsible for the nurturing.  I just wanted to make sure that my children's father would always have a close relationship with each child and through a special interview each Fast Sunday, they could grow together in understanding and love.  As the years go by, more teaching will take place and more heartfelt conversations will occur.  But for now, it's just a time to be together.

Hence the name: "Pai Sunday."

In our beloved Portuguese, "Pai" means father.  And in English "pie" means that delectable deliciousness that goes so well with ice cream.

I hope this tradition will be carried on for many many years.
